A Very Merry Birthday to You!

Hey everyone! Meet my (almost)sister-in-law Hannah. She's my for reals sister-in-law's sister! Confusing, I know. I love Hannah! She is quite easily one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She's also drop-dead gorgeous! She's one of those people you see her and kind of hope she has this ugly personality to balance out the pretty face....Yeah, it doesn't work that way with Hannah, as soon as she opens her mouth to speak you just want to be her friend! I love her(and the entire Corbett family) to death!
The Corbett's are missionaries to the Cayman Islands(Grand Cayman to be exact), but they are back this week for one of the boys weddings(congrats to Steven and Anna!) Hannah came back a little earlier than everyone else to spend some time with Wes and Elisabeth. It just so happens it was the same weekend Momma, Daddy and I had planned to go up there too! Anywho! It was Hannah's birthday, so as a kind of birthday gift, we went, bought her a new outfit and did a photo shoot! I had so much fun shooting her! She's so natural in front of the camera. We started the photo shoot in front of the house(I was trying to channel the  Michelle Moore in me) then we headed back into the woods....yeah I went into the woods! We started to head back to this big river(stream?) whatever..we started to head back to it and came across this stream(brook?)it had an old fallen log laying across it that is used as a bridge...Hannah charged across...'Okay! I can do this!' I tell myself. I scoot ever so slowly across...*breath out* I made it! We go a little farther into the woods, only to discover  about 200 feet from the river everything had been seriously washed out... Oh well! We snap a few more pictures and head back...Oh no! The 'bridge.'... I had almost forgotten...'It's okay! I did it last time I can do it again' I had back over (a little more confident this time) my foot slips (OH NO!) I grab my camera in one hand and push it above my head, I try to catch myself with the other. I slip again. Some how(while in the air)I do a flip and land flat in the water(camera is still above head) I jump up and grab my elbow(ouch that hurt!) Hannah, like the perfect angel she is, jumps in to make sure I'm okay...I look at my camera,'Yeah, I'm fine! Take a picture!'...Haha...So, I tromp back through the woods in my favorite soaking wet winter dress, muddy Forever 21 tights and suede black swashbuckler boots(I think there's a tadpole in them.)
Yes, I am that clumsy, but it really doesn't matter! I(hopefully) got some images that Hannah will love and I feel like I should be on Man, Woman, Wild! Mission accomplished!

For anyone wondering, I'm not putting these on my Facebook because Hannah doesn't have one...She has Fruitiply...It's this nifty site her brother and my brother created together. Check it out! You can post pictures, chat with friends, watch videos and(most importantly)read about what God has done in others lives, learn about missions, share prayer requests and find helpful tools to further your relationship with the Lord.

The infamous log!

Yes, I look awful...You try falling in muddy water and see what you look like!
*disclaimer: I did not  mean for my picture to come before Hannah's, blogspot did it...Sorry girl!}

Beautiful soul!

So pretty! I'm jealous!

FABULOUS shoes right?

(Hope you like them Hannah! Love you!...Oh, and Rachel, You're next!*evil laugh!*)

My happy chair!

Yeah, that's right! I'm happy! You wanna know why? I got a chair!!! I know, I sound like an idiot, but it really is exciting for me! I've been searching for months for the perfect chair for photoshoots. I've visited every antique, junk and consignment store 'lil ole Fayetteville has to offer and today I found one! There is this ginormous flea market down by the mall, I had been meaning to visit it, but never got around to it. I went today, and it was closed (bummer!) That's when I noticed this little place right beside it, a little consignment and (fist pump!) furniture store. I walked in (doesn't look very promising)...walk a little further...(dad-gum this stuff is expensive!)...walk a little further...(I don't think I'm supposed to be in here!) then AH-HA! I see it. It sees me. I almost walk into a wall (man they keep their windows clean!) I run over and start jumping up and down! This is it! I've found it. I look at the price tag and my heart drops. $55's? Yeah right! I'm a tight-wad I guess. I walk up front and timidly ask the woman if she would take less for it (yes, I'm one of those people.) 'Wait one moment, please.' So I wait..and wait..and wait! Seriously guy-in-front-of-me? Those freaky little statues you're buying are not going to come back in style, they were never in style....ever. He leaves. The woman smiles at me. We walk back to see the chair. 'Okay, let's see, it's $38's' she says. (Oops, blonde moment on my part! Didn't notice the clearance tag) I'm still kind of iffy though. 'Will you take $30?' I say...'How about 10% off?' she says (Oh wow! A whopping $2's.) Oh well! I guess that's okay! I really want this chair! So I buy it! I get it shoved into the back of my car and drive off with a smile on my face and $36's poorer!

So to make a short story even longer, here are some pictures. It's faded and dirty (not smelly, just discolored) and I probably paid far to much for it, but I love it so I don't regret making the purchase.
I love how petite it is.

cute little details!

I promise, it isn't at dirty as it looks!

See? It makes me smile!
*sigh!* Vintage happiness!

Sandford and Son? Really?

Yes, I have been accused of becoming like Fred Sandford...Don't know who I'm talking about? I'm kinda disappointed, but that's okay, I'll tell you! Sanford and Son was a show created in the 70's. It's about a junk dealer and his son...It's pretty much hilarious, but back to my point! If you know me at all you know I love my junk store! There's one about 2 minutes from my house and the woman that owns it insists we're related(oh no!)
I am there at least twice a month sorting through piles and piles of junk trying to find something that(I think)is cool. My family, mainly my mom, is of a different opinion. My room is packed full of these random things I've bought, from an old Brownie to a baby scale from the 50's, I've got a lot of stuff! Which begs the question, am I really becoming Fred Sanford? Or worse, are you going to turn on your t.v. one day and see me on 'Hoarders'?
Right now it's pretty organized, so I think I'm good. I may have to use this as an excuse for my daddy to build me a little 'apartment' out back.

Just spell it out!

Why are things always so hard to figure out?
Well, that's what this blog is for, to help me figure it out! I've always been the kind of person that needs to have things spelled out for them. Call it blonde if you want, I call it thorough! : )
Maybe with this blog I can help other people figure it out too!
